If you’re comparing Cognism to other B2B data tools, you’re not alone.
Pricing, outreach limitations, and global coverage push many teams to look elsewhere.
I get it.
I’ve worked with B2B sales teams, SDR/BDR managers, and lead gen agencies, and I keep hearing the same issues with Cognism:

That’s why I tested 5 Cognism competitors.

Which tool fits your use case (startup, agency, or enterprise)
👉 If you skip this, you might pick a tool that’s too expensive or too limited.

Overview of Cognism
This image shows the Cognism homepage
Cognism is a B2B lead generation tool. It helps sales teams find contact details of decision-makers, like emails and phone numbers, and makes sure the data follows GDPR rules.
It’s mostly used by companies that sell to other businesses.
It also connects with your CRM and has filters to help you search leads by job title, company size, industry, and more.
But even though it’s a strong tool, it’s not perfect for everyone.
Let’s talk about why many users start looking for other options.
Why Should You Look for Cognism Alternatives?
Cognism works well for some teams, especially if you're selling to Europe.
But I’ve seen many users (including SDRs, B2B founders, and lead gen agencies) run into the same issues.
Here are the most common problems people face with Cognism:
No free plan — You can’t try it properly without booking a demo and going through a sales call.
Custom pricing — You don’t see a clear price on the website. Many people say it’s too expensive, especially for small teams and startups.
This image shows the Cognism G2 Review
Data accuracy — Some users say they found old or incorrect emails and phone numbers, which wasted their time.
This image shows the Cognism G2 Review
Limited global reach — Cognism is great for European leads, but not as strong in regions like Asia, Oceania, or even the US.
No built-in outreach — It doesn’t offer cold email or call tools. You’ll need to buy extra tools to contact leads.
That’s why we tested 5 real alternatives to Cognism to see what they do better, and where they still miss the mark.
1. Leadsforge – Best All-in-One Enrichment + Outreach Tool
This image shows the Leadsforge homepage
We built Leadsforge for teams that need more than just contact data. It doesn’t stop at enrichment; you can send cold emails directly from the same platform. No switching tools. No clunky integrations.
Unlike tools like Cognism, which focus only on data, Leadsforge combines lead generation with outreach. You can upload your list, warm up inboxes, personalize at scale, and launch sequences, all in one place.
And you don’t have to wait for a sales call or demo to get started. Just sign up, load your leads, and start sending.
If your team’s tired of stitching together data tools with email tools, Leadsforge simplifies the stack and gets your outreach moving faster.
What Makes Leadsforge Better Than Cognism?
✅ Built-in email outreach (Cognism has none): You can enrich leads and send cold emails right away, without switching tools.
✅ No demo required: You can sign up and test the platform without talking to sales first.
✅ Email warmup + sender health tools included: It helps you avoid spam and improve deliverability, something Cognism doesn’t offer.
✅ AI-powered enrichment for uploaded lists: You can import a CSV and get updated company + contact data automatically.
Leadsforge Pros and Cons
Pros
Cons
✅ All-in-one lead generation and outreach tool
❌ Pricing details not publicly available
✅ Easy to use with natural language input
❌ May not be ideal for those seeking only contact data
✅ Verified data reduces bounce rates
Who Should Use Leadsforge?
If you’re a startup, agency, or lean sales team looking for an all-in-one tool that covers both, or,
If you’re a startup, agency, or small sales team and want to:
Find leads
Enrich them
And send cold emails
…without juggling 3–4 tools, Leadsforge is perfect.
Cognism is better if you’re a big company focused on EU data only. However, if you're looking for something faster, simpler, and more affordable, Leadsforge is a great option.
Leadsforge Pricing
Leadsforge doesn’t display pricing on its website at this time.
Since it’s still in an early phase, you’ll need to request access or talk to the team to get a plan that fits your outreach needs.
But here’s something cool:
👉 Right now, they’re giving 100 free credits just for signing up at Leadsforge.ai. You can test the tool, pull some leads, and see if it works for you.
It’s a good way to try it before you decide to pay.

If you want a tool that can do both lead data + cold outreach, Leadsforge is the easiest and most affordable option to try first.
I tested Apollo.io after using Cognism for a few months, and I instantly noticed the difference.
While Cognism is great for EU contact data, it doesn’t let you send emails or build sequences.
With Apollo, you can do both, find leads and contact them from the same dashboard.
It’s built more for fast-moving sales teams, especially startups and smaller teams who want to try things themselves without talking to sales every time.
What Makes Apollo Better Than Cognism?
✅ Built-in email outreach (Cognism has none): You can create email sequences, schedule follow-ups, and handle replies inside Apollo.
✅ Free plan available: You can try it without booking a demo or paying upfront, unlike Cognism’s custom pricing.
✅ Large database of US leads: If you sell to US-based companies, Apollo usually has better data coverage than Cognism.
✅ Chrome extension for LinkedIn: You can pull contact info directly while browsing profiles. Cognism’s extension is more limited.
✅ Faster setup: Apollo is easier to start with; you don’t need to wait for a sales call or onboarding.
Apollo Pros and Cons
✅ Pros
❌ Cons
Free plan available with contact data + email tools
EU data is often less reliable
Includes basic CRM and analytics
No access to API for custom workflows
Chrome extension is fast and simple
Needs annual billing for best pricing
Who Should Use Apollo?
If you’re a startup, small sales team, or SDR manager and want to run cold outreach without buying extra tools, Apollo makes it easy.
Cognism is still better if you care about GDPR-compliant EU data or need detailed firmographics.
But Apollo is a solid choice if you want an all-in-one tool and you're not ready for enterprise-level pricing.
Apollo Pricing:
This image shows the Apollo pricing
Apollo has a generous free plan with basic features and 10–25 email credits per month. Paid plans start at $49/user/month (billed annually) or $59/month billed monthly.

From my testing, Apollo is a better fit if you want to move fast, test campaigns, and keep your tool count low.
It’s not as deep as Cognism in terms of EU compliance or enterprise filters, but it’s faster, cheaper, and easier to start.
3. ZoomInfo – Best for Enterprise Teams That Need Deep Data
This image shows the ZoomInfo Homepage
When I tested ZoomInfo, it was clear this platform is built for big sales teams with serious budgets. It goes beyond what Cognism offers, especially in the US market.
Cognism focuses heavily on EU data and basic enrichment.
ZoomInfo, on the other hand, gave firmographics, intent signals, org charts, and technographics, all useful for account-based selling. But it’s not cheap, and setup took longer.
What Makes ZoomInfo Better Than Cognism?
✅ Stronger US coverage: When I pulled US lead lists, ZoomInfo returned more verified contacts than Cognism, especially at enterprise companies.
✅ Intent data works: You can see which companies are researching solutions like yours (based on their web activity). Cognism doesn’t offer anything like this.
✅ Great for sales ops: Their data fits well into Salesforce and HubSpot. You can build workflows with technographics and job changes, much more than Cognism’s simpler filters.
But if you’re a startup or small team, it might feel like overkill, and you’ll have to talk to sales to even see pricing.
ZoomInfo Pros and Cons
✅ Pros
❌ Cons
Extremely detailed data, especially in the US
Very expensive, not for small teams
Includes intent, technographics, and hiring signals
No free trial or public pricing
Works well with major sales and marketing platforms
Requires demo + contract to get started
Who Should Choose ZoomInfo?
Use ZoomInfo if you have a large sales team, a CRM-driven workflow, and want to do account-based marketing (ABM).
It’s especially good if you’re targeting the US or global enterprise accounts.
If you're a founder, solo SDR, or agency on a budget, it’s probably not worth it.
ZoomInfo Pricing
ZoomInfo doesn’t list pricing on its site. But from what we’ve seen, entry-level plans typically start at $15,000/year for small teams.
4. Clay – Best for Enrichment + Workflow Automation
This image shows the Clay homepage
I tested Clay because many sales teams and agencies told me,
“We want more control than what Cognism gives.”
And honestly, they’re right.
Cognism gives you data, but you can’t customize much.
Clay, on the other hand, lets you build your lead machine.
You pull data from different sources (like LinkedIn, Clearbit, and Apollo), then set up your own rules, filters, and actions, all without writing code.
What Makes Clay Better Than Cognism?
✅ Custom data workflows – With Cognism, you only get what’s in their system. Clay lets you pull from multiple sources and combine them how you want.
✅ More control – You can build smart workflows (like scoring leads, filtering out bad ones, updating CRM, etc.), all automated.
✅ No sales calls needed – Clay offers a free trial. You don’t need to talk to sales just to see the product.
✅ Works with tools you already use – It connects easily with Airtable, Instantly, Smartlead, HubSpot, and more.
Clay Pros and Cons
✅ Pros
❌ Cons
Lets you build full enrichment workflows, no code
No built-in email sending
Flexible setup with tons of data providers
Takes time to learn, not plug-and-play
Easy to connect with automation tools
Can get expensive with more rows or data
Who Should Use Clay?
Choose Clay if you:
Want more control over where your data comes from
Are you already using cold email tools like Instantly
Have someone on your team who can set up automations
Are you tired of rigid tools with no flexibility
Clay isn’t just a Cognism replacement, it’s a smarter way to build your lead system.
Clay Pricing:
This image shows the Clay Pricing
Clay has a free plan with limited credits and rows. Paid plans start at $149/month with more data rows, workflows, and GPT-based AI features.
👉 Costs scale with number of rows, enrichment volume, and advanced workflow usage.

In short, if you want to build smarter lead flows, not just download contacts, Clay is a great Cognism alternative. There's just a small learning curve.
5. Lusha – Best for Simplicity + Quick Lead Lookups
This image shows the Lusha homepage
If you’ve used Cognism and found it heavy or too complex, Lusha feels like the opposite.
It’s super simple. You install the Chrome extension, visit a LinkedIn profile or company page, and get the contact info right there, email, phone, job title, and more.
I tested Lusha when I needed to get fast lead data without a big setup. It worked well for that.
What Makes Clay Better Than Cognism?
✅ Fast and easy to use – You don’t need training. Just install the extension and start pulling leads.
✅ Free plan available – You get 5 free credits per month to try it out. Cognism doesn’t offer this.
✅ Great for individual reps or small teams – It’s simple, works on LinkedIn, and doesn’t require a long setup process.
✅ No sales call needed to sign up – You can create an account and start using it on your own.
Clay Pros and Cons:
✅ Pros
❌ Cons
Very easy to install and use
Only contact info, no outreach tools
Fast data retrieval from LinkedIn
Data accuracy varies by region
Free credits available
No real automation or workflow tools
Who Should Choose Clay?
Go for Lusha if:
You’re a solo founder, freelancer, or a small sales team
You just need quick lead data from LinkedIn
You don’t want to sit through demos or deal with enterprise pricing
You prefer simplicity over lots of features
Lusha Pricing:
Lusha offers a free plan with 70 credits/month. Paid plans start at $29/user/month and go up based on credit usage.
👉 All plans are credit-based. You pay more as you look up more contacts.
