Junia Baker LPC CPCS SEP is a Founder & Clinical Director at ARC | Active Resilience Counseling & Coaching based in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, North America. Nia Baker is an individual and group therapist, supervisor, trainer, and consultant who uses a strength-based, anti-oppressive lens to facilitate inner knowing and learning new skills. She completed a Master in Professional Counseling with a Certificate in Trauma Counseling and holds a License in Professional Counseling in the state of Georgia where she also serves as a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS). Nia also completed a Master in Theological Studies (MTS) with a focus on religion and spirituality rituals as both neurobiological stress and safety. Nia believes in the dignity of each unique experience and the remarkable adaptiveness of those who have lived through experiences of marginalization and trauma. Nia has completed The Linehan Institute Dialectical Behavior Therapy Foundational Training, Radically Open (RO)-DBT training through Tom Lynch, creator, and DBT for Substance Abuse Disorder (DBT-SUD). She also uses techniques from her training with EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programs (HAP). Nia is also trained in Cognitively-Based Compassion Training (CBCT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). She works integratively using her training as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) through Somatic Experiencing International (SEI). Nia started LINGER ART HOUSE the summer of 2018 to facilitate classes around meditative and intuitive painting as an interest and therapeutic tool. She opened Active Resilience Counseling & Coaching LLC (ARC) in the fall of 2018 to provide DBT, RO DBT, and Trauma Counseling in the south side of Atlanta to serve our growing diverse community. ARC provides both behavioral and cognitive therapies that offer real, lasting change as well as trauma processing for enduring relief. Our goal is to help you move past tolerating life and find new ways of being that already live inside of you.
