Skip Hawkins is a President and CEO at Nyalic based in Jasper, Georgia, United States, North America. As president and CEO of Nyalic®, I am afforded the opportunity to do what I love, interact with people and solve problems. My approach to doing business is largely inspired by my Dad, a past captain of industry. He and I purchased the formula for Nyalic in 1993, and I have headed up the company since 1996. My early years with Nyalic were a singular operation spent in sales and developing surface preparation products, processes, and procedures for the use of Nyalic. I addressed my passion for problem-solving by attending Georgia Tech; however, after two years of school, I left and enlisted in the US Navy in 1975. I served as an electrician’s mate, and for the last two years of my enlistment, I was responsible for the electrical department on board the USS Takelma. Upon my discharge in 1979, my wife and I moved home to Atlanta, GA, and I spent three years traveling the country as an electrician and electronics tech for Air Products & Chemicals. I took employment with AT&T in Norcross, GA in 1982 and worked as an electrician and liaison for the electrical maintenance and electrical engineering departments. During four and a half of the seven years that I worked at AT&T, I attended night classes at Southern Tech in Marietta, GA studying electrical engineering and graduated with a BSEET degree in 1987. Shortly after my graduation, I accepted a job as a salesman for Cameron & Barkley in Norcross, GA where I called on major manufacturers in the Atlanta, GA area selling all types of electrical supplies. After three years at CamBar, I moved to All Phase Electrical Supply where my responsibilities included the startup of their electronics division in the Atlanta area. In 1990 I started and operated American Environment, a waste management, and recycling business, in the Atlanta, GA area. I sold that business in 1993 and have owned and operated Nyalic since that time.
