Samira Abdi is a The Founder of TheraGene Ltd. Company at Theragene R&D Biotechnology Analysis Healthcare Consulting Production Ind. Trade Ltd. based in Istanbul, Turkiye, Asia. Throughout my academic journey—beginning with my Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics at Middle East Technical University, where I focused on Cancer Genetics and Biotechnology—I laid the groundwork for my career aspirations. This included hands-on experience in a TÜBİTAK 1001 Project investigating receptor interactions and signaling pathways. Following this, I pursued a Master's degree in Tumor Biology at Ankara University, where I explored the effects of anti-angiogenic drugs on tumor immunity. This research, conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hakan Akbulut, provided crucial insights into cancer biology and drug resistance. Subsequently, my Ph.D. journey continued in the same department, focusing on factors influencing pre-metastatic niche development. Through my involvement in multiple TÜBİTAK projects and the receipt of several scholarships, I participated in various research projects related to cancer treatments and immune checkpoint inhibitors. In addition, I served as an executive at TheraGene Ltd., collaborating on a TÜBİTAK BİGG program aimed at developing a diagnostic kit for anti-angiogenic drug use. With expertise in numerous areas of cancer biology and molecular techniques, I am also qualified to teach courses such as Recombinant DNA Techniques, Molecular and Cellular Biology, The Cellular and Molecular Properties of Cancer, Biology of Cancer, Cancer Genetics, Tumor Immunology, and Molecular Biology Laboratory Techniques. Furthermore, my academic experience includes internships at RENKO LTD., where I was involved in the quality control of laboratory devices, and at METU Medical Center, where I worked with medical laboratory devices performing tasks such as complete blood counts, allergy tests, and hormone tests. I am now eager to pursue opportunities that align with my passion for research, education, and scientific publication.
