An accomplished senior executive leader I retired from my corporate career after serving as President Walt Disney Travel Co. and EVP of Worldwide Sales & Travel Opns, Disney Destinations, for over 20 years, helping to shape this prestigious global brand. I am proud to have played a key role in the largest expansion period in their history growing from $4.1B to almost $16B during my tenure. I also led The Disney Institute which provides global training & management consulting & helped create and lead several new business ventures including the launch of Disney Cruise Line and multiple fleet expansions, the opening of 6 new theme parks and 27 resort hotels, and the development of new international resorts in Hong Kong and Shanghai. Before joining Disney I spent almost 8 years as VP of Sales at Universal Studios Hollywood and Chief Marketing Officer/EVP Marketing & Sales for Universal Studios Florida, launching this business & helping to lead their expansion in the world's most competitive theme park market. Previous positions include Regional VP Sales for Royal Viking Line (a world class luxury cruise line) and operations, sales and marketing management roles with Trans World Airlines (TWA) early in my career. Currently I'm a CEO Mentor with CEO Global Network & serve on the Board of Directors for Destination Canada, MBI brands, Coast Entertainment Holdings, Saudi Tourism Authority, & Rocky Mountaineer where I chair the Corporate Governance, Strategy and Nominating Committee for the world's largest privately held luxury railroad. I previously served as Chairman of U.S. Travel and Visit Orlando and have held board roles in The Travel Institute (ICTA), Visit Florida and California Tourism Commission. I've been recognized 3 times as one of the extraordinary sales and marketing minds by Hospitality Sales & Marketing Assn Intl (HSMAI), received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Travel Weekly and was inducted into the U.S. Travel Hall of Leaders, joining distinguished inductees Walt Disney and J.W. Marriott Jr. in this small group. I served as Chairman of U.S. Travel & Visit Orlando & have held officer roles in The Travel Institute (ICTA), Visit Florida and California Tourism Commission. I was selected by President Clinton as a delegate to the historic White House Conference on Tourism and enjoy speaking opportunities aimed at leaders focused on their development, culture building and change management.
