Pinar Ormeci is a CEO & Board Member at Timus Networks, Inc. based in United States, North America. “Make No Small Plans. They Have Not the Power to Stir Your Blood” (Daniel Burnham). So here I go. My tech journey was inevitable; both of my parents were high school teachers, my mom taught Math and my dad Physics. To this day I am proud of the fact that I ranked in the top 10 out of 1 million+ high school students in the university entrance exam in Turkey. After grad school in the US with a masters in electrical engineering, I intended to build my career on the R&D side, and more so in mobile technologies. As luck would have it though, after about a year at Qualcomm R&D, I shifted over to the business side and have not looked back. Innate curiosity, solving complex problems and coaching great talent drive me each day. I’ve spent the past 20+ years on an exciting journey before I joined Timus Networks as its CEO. At Qualcomm, where I made the switch from Corporate R&D to Corporate, I learned that big decisions can be made in life if you trust yourself. With that knowledge, I moved across companies, coasts, and continents, always in roles where I was in a position to drive significant revenue growth across geographies, leading diverse teams across cultures. I'm a passionate and an authentic leader. What I learned after 20+ years of working is that humans crave genuine interactions - even in business. Traveling worldwide extensively gave me a hands-on experience that human condition is the same wherever you’re in the world and keeping it real at work (and in life) is a currency that goes a long way worldwide. I have been a part of several successful company exits. Notably, I owned the $130M+ P&L for the highest revenue-generating customer at Transaction Network Services (NYSE: TNS) which got acquired by Siris Capital. At Lookout, I was the Global VP of World-Wide partner business for the endpoint security division when the division sold to F-Secure (both companies majority partner-led) Having worked both at very large enterprises like Qualcomm and Ericsson, and high growth startups, I have a keen eye for putting operational processes, KPIs, and best practices in place while keeping agile, flexible, and hungry. I’m a natural activator, I turn thoughts into action, and galvanize teams behind a common purpose. I am a fierce advocate for having more diversity in the workforce, especially in senior leadership positions and boards. Diversity of thought and different ways of critical thinking are just smart business, in addition to contributing to a fairer world.
