Pearce Godwin, MBA is a Founder at Listen First Project based in New Bern, North Carolina, United States, North America. "Pearce is the beating heart of the movement to bridge divides in America.” Inspiring change, connecting people, optimizing execution. I am the founder of Listen First Project and the #ListenFirst Coalition of 500 organizations bringing Americans together across divides to build understanding, trust, relationships, and solutions — to turn down the heat and find a way forward together. As the backbone leader for the movement, I drive strategies and initiatives among Coalition partners to create greater impact together toward social cohesion and collaboration. I amplify the hope and opportunities of the bridging movement in interviews across national media including Fox News, MSNBC, C-SPAN and the Wall Street Journal, in columns for USA TODAY, TIME Magazine, and the Chronicle of Philanthropy, in coverage by the New York Times, and in testimony before Congress. I graduated from Duke University and received an MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill. I spent five years working in Washington, DC, in the U.S. Senate and as a national political consultant for presidential and statewide campaigns. Before moving home to North Carolina in 2013, I spent six months leading development projects in Uganda, Africa where I wrote It’s Time to Listen. That message, printed in dozens of papers across the United States, launched Listen First Project. At UNC-Chapel Hill, I was an MBA Merit Fellow, Beta Gamma Sigma honoree, and entrepreneurship award winner. Throughout my career, I've employed exceptional skills in leadership, communication, relationship building, marketing, sales, and quantitative analysis as well as a passionate, entrepreneurial spirit to successfully effect change and achieve results. I have visited all 50 states, love America and my fellow Americans, and maintain faith that out of many people, one more perfect union can be built together.
