Nabeel Sharif is a Founder & CEO at HealthiPlate based in Greater Leeds Area, United Kingdom, Europe. I am the Founder & CEO of HealthiPlate; helping users revolutionise their health by enabling them to take a photo of their food and receive a health score, based on 12 health goals. I am also a part-time Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) student in Economics at Leeds University Business School, funded by the Leeds Doctoral Scholarship and a research stipend from UK Research & Innovation (UKRI). My research considers the European Monetary Union from an international political economy and financialisation perspective, exploring key areas including the Credit Theory of Money, Dependency Theory, Uneven and Combined Development and Currency Hierarchy. My supervision team consists of Professor Gary Dymski, Professor Annina Kaltenbrunner and Dr. Bianca Orsi. Finally, I am an SEO Assistant Economist at the Department for Business and Trade (HM Government), working as a trade sanctions analyst within the Trade Remedies, Disputes and Sanctions team. Prior to this, I worked as a HEO Assistant Economist at the Trade Remedies Authority between March 2021-June 2023, contributing to analysis to support whether tariffs should be placed on goods, whereby unfair trade was found to be harming domestic industries. As part of this role, I had the pleasure of being amongst the first economists in the UK to work on an anti-subsidy investigation since 1973.
