About Kevin Kuhnash

Kevin Kuhnash is a Operating Partner at Sequel Holdings, L.P. based in United States, North America. I have been CEO of 2 plastics manufacturing companies. In my most recent CEO role, I was hired by a Tennessee private equity firm to run a plastics compounding company in Indiana. My role was to institutionalize the organization and processes and implement a strategic planning process to grow the business. In a 4 year period, sales were grown 3X and ebitda 4X making way for the shareholders to realize tremendous gains. The company was sold in 2013. My time there was one of extraordinary value to me. Value that matters most; filled with the love and joy that comes from working with extraordinary people, achieving extraordinary results. I will always cherish the time I got to have sharing that part of my life with these good people. In my first tenure as CEO, sales grew 10X with 7 plants in my first 8 years as CEO; 5 of those plants were newly built greenfield factories during that time including one in Alabama to supply lower instrument panels, consoles and other highly critical trim components to the new Mercedes plant in Tuscaloosa, Al. I was one of the first people in North America trained by Toyota in Toyota Production System starting in the early 1980s. I am well versed in 5S and related lean principles. My approach to implementing Lean begins with Extreme 5S and searching for controllable causes of variation in every process by a team trained to do so, prescribing remedial actions accordingly. I was later approached by the North American President of Toyota at the time to come lead their new Tech center in Covington, KY. I have a picture of us in the day during those discussions. Our new factories were immersed in this continuous improvement culture attracting many international customers and investors along the way. These plants were eventually sold. I am accustomed to managing resources to maximize ebitda within the constraints of safety, quality, morale, various financial ratios, etc. My approach centers on growing people, helping them to achieve what they otherwise thought was personally unattainable. Growing people is an essential ingredient to growing a company. Helping people to see their potential builds their confidence both at work and outside of work which builds their value to the company; I thoroughly enjoy that part of my role. Of course my faith and my training at Toyota, lead me in this approach with humility and respect for all at every position and station in life. My wife and I are new empty nesters and very much enjoy helping others in need. Shining light to those in need is very life enriching.
