Jonathan Gittos is a Co-Founder & CEO at Porthos & Co Ltd based in London, England, United Kingdom, Europe. I’m an entrepreneur and the co-founder of Porthos & Co, a fintech arranger of mortgages and insurance. We aim to get you the home and security you deserve, however large, complex or unconventional your needs. Our clients resist the complex forms and clunky technology of our industry. So to serve you faster and better, we're building a new interface, that uses voice calls and conversational messaging, both linked to and processed by AI. We're a Techstars portfolio company. I moved into startupland after a decade on the trading floors of Wall Street banks: JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. And founded my first startup, Marketpipe at the height of the dotcom boom. We built and operated SaaS bond distribution software for investment banks. We were incredibly fortunate to win 22 bank customers relatively quickly as well as building a great team of some outstanding individuals. We sold the company - in retrospect, far too early - and it continues to thrive, now as part of S&P Global. Partly by learning from mistakes and increasingly, I hope from success, I've become an almost religious believer in the importance of meticulous design, relentless selling, total marketing and exceptional customer service. The most important part of achieving that is hiring the right people, which in turn, means creating a warm, humane, tech culture that attracts the bright and charming.
