James VanRaden is a Founder at Design Something Good based in Moorhead, Minnesota, United States, North America. Owner & operator of iCare Wireless Repair a Veteran Owned & Operated repair facility located in the heart of downtown Fargo, ND. In 2011 I started repairing wireless devices in the basement of my home after falling & breaking my neck in a freak at home accident. When I started in home repairs I was looking for a career change. I had been researching underserved markets & niche businesses that were not hard on my body as I was welding on foot for 12+ hours per day. From this came my first repair operation in December of 2011. I had been recruited to design, construct & run a repair operation within an authorized AT&T retail store. This operation was Fargo's first to offer comprehensive repairs for all makes, models & carrier's devices. In August 2012 I moved on to replicate from scratch this style of operation within a used game & video store. This operation was similar but incorporated implementation of a proprietary POS system. In February of 2013 I departed the 2nd operation & started to develop iCare Wireless Repair. My blueprint was drawn from the weaknesses & shortcomings of the other two. I saw the opportunity for something greater. I looked at what could be improved & how things could be more customer focused. In July of 2013 iCare was born & I began repairing devices after 5 months of development & construction. iCare specializes in the repair of iPhone, iPod, iPad & all other makes & models. iCare provides efficient cost effective & repair services/ solutions for residential consumers as well as schools and other commercial entities with a focus on superior customer service. In 7 short months we have seen 235% growth in sales & an outpouring of support. We are developing a social outreach PC program as well as an electronics component manufacturing division & anticipate national presence by 2018. We continue to seek opportunities & collaborative relationships locally, nationally as well as internationally to foster our projected growth.
