My commitment to this mission is deeply personal. I've been blessed to have the opportunity to plan and lead some of the largest capital campaigns for organizations who are spread the world over, including Lion’s Clubs Intl., Juvenile Diabetes Fdn. Intl. and Rotary Intl. It all started when I was given the opportunity to help lead The PolioPlus campaign for Rotary International, a global initiative to eradicate Polio. PolioPlus wasn't just another project; it was a calling. My father contracted Polio at the age of 19, spent 11 months in the hospital, was told he would never walk again. Despite this grim prognosis, his determination to regain his mobility was nothing short of inspirational. He spent countless hours learning to walk on crutches, suffering numerous fractures. His resilience and courage have been a driving force in my life, and his story fueled my passion for leading the fight against Polio. When I took on the challenge to raise $120 million to help eradicate Polio, it was with the hope that no other family would have to endure what mine did. That passion helped us raise over $500 million! At CDS, we carry forward the same passion and dedication.
