At Forest City Ratner Companies, one of the foremost urban real estate developers in the New York metropolitan area, Bruce was an Executive Vice President and oversaw government, media and community affairs including comprehensive public relations campaigns for some of the largest economic development projects in the New York City metropolitan area. A 25-year government veteran, he served as Chief of Staff for the Speaker of the New York City Council and Chief of Staff to the Chair of the Finance Committee, where he was responsible for overseeing the city’s legislative and budgetary processes and served as the chief liaison and negotiator with the Mayor's Office. Bruce has also had tremendous influence over the City’s education policy having served for many years as Chief of Staff to the Council’s Education Committee. Bruce has had his hand in shaping many major economic development projects across the city and has been instrumental in the rebuilding, reimaging and overall renaissance of Brooklyn from both the public and private sectors. He has managed and consulted countless local, city- and state-wide political campaigns over the course of his career. He has also served as a board member of Congregation Beth Elohim in Park Slope, the Forest City Ratner Foundation and the Brooklyn Nets Foundation.
