Angie Mena is a Lead Architect at MITO Design Studio based in Nosara, Guanacaste, Costa Rica, North America. I’m an architect and interior designer with a degree from the School of Architecture and Urbanism at the Technological Institute of Costa Rica (TEC). My certifications in design thinking, neuroarchitecture, and salutogenic design anchor my human-centered approach to creating functional, meaningful spaces. I am detail-oriented, believing that small touches elevate design. Living close to nature has reinforced my commitment to balanced spaces that harmonize the built and natural environments. Every design decision, from framing views of nature to collaborating with landscape designers, aligns with my dedication to creating spaces that promote well-being and contemplation. Lately, my work has focused on the relationship between architecture and well-being, exploring how thoughtfully designed spaces can positively impact people and communities. My team and I approach each project with a commitment to encourage positive cohabitation, devising tailored solutions for each site. This approach reflects my dedication to creating beautiful, healthy, and impactful spaces.
